Kathmandu, 29 December: Two people have died after the police opened fire on the protesters at Balkumari in Lalitpur. The protesters, who were injured by police firing, died in the Kist and Patan hospitals during treatment.
Amis Pathak, Chief Operating Officer of the Kisht Hospital, confirmed that one who was brought into the hospital died during treatment. He said that the identity of the deceased is yet to be revealed.
Another person died at the Patan Hospital.
Hundreds of irritated youths protesting on the Balkumari-Satdobato road burned a vehicle of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala in Balkumari. Although the fire brigade tried to put out the fire, the vehicle numbered Ba 2 Jha 5861 was destroyed by the fire.
Those youths who were unable to attend the EPS examination for employment in South Korea, even after studying the Korean language, launched a protest and a group of the protesters set ablaze at the Minister’s vehicle.
