Kathmandu, 30 December: A six-member Chinese technical team that came to study the feasibility of the Kerung-Kathmandu railway is all set to start the field survey work within a week. The Department of Railways said that the team will conduct a field survey in the first phase. According to Rohit Kumar Bisural, Director General of the Department of Railways, along with the Chinese team, the technical team of the department will also go for the field survey. "The technical team from China is currently under internal management. As soon as the internal management is completed, it will go for the field surve," he said.  The team will stay in Nepal for three weeks and conduct a field survey. After that, it will return to China for about one-and- a- half months. After the joint team of China and Nepal comes back from the field survey, the feasibility study process will be discussed. According to the preliminary study, it will take 42 months to complete its feasibility study. The actual distance, cost, tunnel, bridge, station etc. of the railway will be finalized from the feasibility study. People's News Monitoring Service
