Cabinet expansion only after vote of confidence
Kathmandu, 29 December: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda has decided to expand his cabinet only after bagging a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari summoned the House on 9 January 2023. PM Prachanda is seeking a vote of confidence first from Parliament before giving a complete shape to his cabinet.
As the number of aspirants for the ministerial post is high, it is not possible to include all of them at once, PM Prachanda decided to expand the cabinet only after he will bag a vote of confidence.
PM Prachanda and UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli at the Balkot meeting on 28 December agreed for expanding the cabinet only after the vote of confidence motion.
Once Prachanda will bag a vote of confidence one cannot file a vote of a no-confidence motion against the sitting PM until he will complete two years in office, according to the constitution.
