Kathmandu, 19 December: At a time when Prime Minister and NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Center chair Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda are trying to form a new coalition government under their leadership, Nepali Congress central work performance committee meeting held on Sunday has decided to initiate efforts for forming a new coalition government led by NC. NC believes that being the largest party in parliament, it is natural to form the government under the NC leadership.
Meanwhile, Deuba is trying to bag the confidence of the foreign powers and also making efforts to get elected the leader of the parliamentarian party in the process of becoming the PM for the next tenure.
Earlier, Prachanda on Saturday had requested Deuba for supporting him to become the PM of the new coalition government. At that meeting, Deuba had replied that he would think on the issue only after the party’s parliamentarian party election.
Deuba’s bottom line is to become the PM and also to keep the president’s post for the party.
When Deuba and Prachanda have claimed the PM’s post at once, the present ruling coalition may face a crisis.
On the other hand, UML, although has not claimed for joining the government, is trying its best to break the present ruling alliance. UML has kept open all options with all the parties.
