Kathmandu, 31 October:The CPN Maoist Center (MC) has unveiled the election manifesto emphasizing constitution amendment to change the form of government, electoral system and federal structure.
The Maoists have been holding the view that a directly elected president should go for a fully proportional election system. Similarly, it is mentioned in the manifesto that the State Restructuring Commission will be formed and declared an autonomous, protected and special zone. The Maoist has mentioned in the manifesto that changes are also needed in the structure of other agencies of the state.
It states that there will be a federal parliament with 165 seats and a 55-seat national assembly and a provincial assembly with a total of 330 seats. The MC, in its manifesto said that arrangements will be made to form a small-sized cabinet with no more than 25 members in the Center and no more than 15 percent of the total number of MPs in the respective provincial assemblies. .
