Kathmandu, 22 October: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who was arrested on rape charges, is being detained  for a few more days. The court has given a deadline for remand till Sunday for investigation. But as the investigation has not yet been completed, the police have prepared to extend the deadline and seek permission from the Kathmandu District court again. His statement has already been recorded at the public prosecutor's office. Sandeep's statement was recorded for three days and it has been verified. In course of deposition, Sandeep wept and wailed pleading innocent. He has been repeating that though he shared a room with the girl, he sat on the chair while the girl slept on the bed and he did not rape her. People's News Monitoring Service
