Kathmandu, 10 October: Eight people at Salim, Chhayanath Rara Municipality-11 in Mugu, have been killed and three others have gone missing when a landslide triggered by incessant rain buried them on Monday afternoon.
Of the deceased, four are men and four women, according to the District Police Office. All the deceased had stayed in the same house due to fear of a landslide. All of them died on the spot. However, the identity of the deceased and those missing in the disaster has not been ascertained yet. A police team from Gamgadhi has reached the incident site to carry out search for the missing.
Meanwhile, four people died when a house was buried in a landslide in Melchham of Chakheli rural municipality-6 of Humla. Five others were injured when landslide fell on the house of Manbir BK on Sunday night, according to Karnali Province Police Office Surkhet.
