
Kathmandu, 23 September: A private company has been entrusted with the operation and management of Tatopani dry port. The port built at Larcha in Sindhupalchok with the financial and technical support of the Chinese government will be operated by the private company from next Monday.
After completing the construction, the Chinese side formally handed it over to the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee on 13 Asar 2076.
After the transfer, it was operated and managed by the committee for some time. Since 16 Pous 2076, the Nepal Transport and Warehousing Company Limited, which is owned by the Government of Nepal, has been operating and managing it.
Ashish Gajurel, executive director of the committee, said that Biratnagar's Trans Silk Terminal Pvt Ltd has been assigned management responsibility for five years. The committee entrusted the management of the said company with 11.7 million rupees.
