
Kathmandu, 20 September: As the dengue outbreak is becoming widespread, laboratories are charging up to five times more in the name of testing. Hospitals are also charging Rs 500 to 2600 per person for Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).
An official of the National Public Health Laboratory says that even adding the price of the Test Kit and other expenses, dengue can be tested for up to Rs 500, but the government laboratories are charging up to Rs 2,600, according to reports.
Meanwhile,One more death has been reported from dengue in the last 24 hours. With this, the death toll from dengue has reached 21.So far, a total of 17,594 cases of dengue have been reported nationwide.
