Kathmandu, 18 September: Senior journalist, editor and publisher of the Naya Current weekly, died this morning while undergoing treatment at the B & B Hospital. His last rites were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat the same afternoon. Gautam, 77, former vice chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, former chairman of the Editors’ Society of Nepal and also the former chairman of the Federation of the Editors and Publishers of Nepal, was suffering from pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital. The late Gautam,77, is survived by his wife and two sons. The Editors Society of Nepal has expressed deep sorrow on the sad demise of its former chairman Gautam. The emergency meeting of the Society has extended heartfelt condolences to all the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
