Maoist Center supremo Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, once again claimed that due to his efforts the agendas of republicanism, federalism and secularism were endorsed.
Immediately after Prachanda’s remarks, Madhab Nepal opined that due to his dynamic role, the country was declared a republic. It seems the communist leaders are in a race for taking credit for the political change in the country. Still, they believe, they took a revolutionary move for a change. But the situation is that they have become very weak and thus are seeking the support of the Nepali Congress for rescuing their political future.
The Reality:
If Prachanda will contest the 20 November election without the support of the NC, he is going to face a humiliating defeat in his home constituency in Chitwan. We know that in the previous local level election, the YCL had to tear the ballot paper for the victory of Prachanda’s daughter Renu Dahal in the election for the post of mayor. In the recent local level election, NC president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had to make a special effort for the victory of Renu to the post of mayor. If Deuba will not support Prachanda, in that case, either the latter will run behind UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli or he will reject to take part in the election, which is sure. In the previous election, Prachanda was able to win the election with the support of UML.
If Maoist Center will contest the election alone, the party will hardly secure victory in around half a dozen seats under the first-past-the-post electoral system.
Madhav Nepal’s case is more serious. If the party will go to the election alone, the party will get zero seats.
It is clear that even if they have contributed to the present political system, they are not popular among the voters.
Whose agendas after all?
The 12-point agreement among the parliamentarian parties and the then terrorist declared Maoist was the sole agenda of the South Block and RAW.
The South Block plan was supported by the West on the condition of declaring Nepal a secular nation.
The parliamentarian parties and also the Maoists became the tool of the Indo-West strategy for declaring Nepal a secular, federal republic, however, the Nepali nationals were not in favour of such a system. Still, the majority of the people are against the present system imposed by the foreigners, unfortunately, they are not united but divided in their pitiful interests. Foreign powers are very active in keeping divided the patriotic forces. The reality is that the traitors, although disliked by the Nepali population, have remained the dominating force in the country.
