Kathmandu, 30 August: Twenty Nepali organizations active in the field of conflict victims and human rights have written a letter to the United Nations saying that the Transitional Justice Bill submitted to the Parliament by the Government of Nepal is flawed.
Rights activists sent letters to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet. The meeting of the House of Representatives held on Monday unanimously approved the proposal to consider the 'Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Disappeared Persons (Third Amendment) Bill, 2079'. These institutions are of the view that the said bill cannot address the legitimate issues of Nepal's transitional justice.
