By Our Reporter  Although CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli and other leaders of the party have been claiming that the party would contest the November 20 elections alone, they are also making exercises to ally with the pro-royalist party — the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. In a bid to forge alliance, Oli and RPP chairman Rajendra Lingden recently held a talk in Kathmandu. Earlier, party general secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana had lobbied for the electoral alliance with the UML. Oli wants to forge an alliance with the RPP to ensure his victory in Jhapa, because Oli may not win the election in case the RPP candidates forge an electoral alliance with the parties in power both in Jhapa-5 and Jhapa-2. And if the parties forge an alliance, both Lingden and Oli will feel safe in Jhapa while Rana can be elected from Banke. However, such an alliance could be expensive for NC’s Krishna Sitaula because he cannot defeat Lingden backed by UML in Jhapa-3. Anyway, the RPP-UML alliance will help both parties to win a few more seats in the House of Representatives.
