
Kathmandu, 15 August: The main opposition party CPN-UML has welcomed the withdrawal of the Citizenship Bill. UML has welcomed the return of the Citizenship Bill while appreciating the sentiments of the people.
The Chief Whip of the ruling Nepali Congress, Chitralekha Yadav, has said that it is sad that President Bidya Devi Bhandari sent the bill, which was approved by the people's representatives from both the Houses, back to the Parliament. She said that President Bhandari's decision was very unnatural, short-sighted and unwise.
Likewise, Chief Whip of UML Bishal Bhattarai said President returned the Citizenship Bill for reconsideration by addressing the widespread complaints of the people about the Citizenship Bill. "The provision of getting citizenship immediately marriage bill is controversial," he said.
