
Kathmandu, 15 August: Jhalnath Khanal, Senior leader of CPN United Socialist and former Prime Minister, has said that the Citizenship Bill is not a bill to be passed by the Parliament on the strength of the majority.
Khanal, the top leader of the ruling alliance, said that a national consensus is necessary on the issue of the Citizenship Bill. He said that the Citizenship Bill is not normal like other Bills. He said that if the Citizenship Bill is taken as normal, there is a risk of encroachment on the population of Nepal. Speaking to media persons in Illam, leader Khanal said that the Citizenship Bill should not be passed even if there is a majority in the Parliament.
