Personalities contributing to different fields honoured
Kathmandu, 14 August: Personalities contributed in different fields have been honoured by the N & J Entertainment N Y Inc. at a function organized at the Nepal Academy on 13 August.
Chancellor of the Academy, Ganga Prasad Upreti was the chief guest at the programme chaired by Kamala Prasain, patron of the organization and literate figure.
Senior literary personalities Krishna Pradhan, Maya Thakuri and Professor Dr Gargi Sharma were honoured with the Kamala Prasain Literature Award 2079.
Accordingly, Om Bikram Bista awarded with Kamala Prasain Music Award 2079.
Balen Shah, mayor, Kathmandu Metropolis, is awarded the late rap singer Samrat Yama Buddha Award 2079.
Harka Sangpang Rai, mayor, Dharan Sub Metropolis is awarded with the late Arjun Prasad Prasain Youth Leadersip Award 2079.
Maniram Dahal of the Purbelee News and Bishwaraj Thapa of e-Nepalese.com were awarded the Narayan-Jayanta Prasain Wave Journalism Award 2079.
Bishnu Gautam of the Laxmi Academy and Saru Subedi of the Tulsadevi Harihar Foundation have been awarded the Kabin Bikram Shah Social Service Award 2079.
All the awardees received a letter of appreciation along with a purse worth 25 thousand rupees.
Chancellor Upreti had handed over the prize to the awardees.
Ambika Prasad Adhikari, founder of the Yama Buddha Foundation, and awardees Krishna Pradhan, Maya Thakuri and Dr Gargi addressed the function.
Chancellor Upreti has commended the contribution made by Kamala Prasain even staying in a foreign country. Upreti also commended Prasain’s son Kabin Bikram Shah for being inspired by his mother’s works and establishing an award by saving his pocket money.
Kamala Prasain, the founder of the organization, said that even while staying in a foreign country, she is keenly interested in serving the motherland in her capacity.
She also informed that she is engaged in creative literary writing even staying in a foreign country.
A large number of dignitaries from different fields attended the event.
