
Kathmandu, 8 August: With the dwindling reserves of foreign currency, the Nepal government has banned the import of ten items. Among those items, the import of mobile phones has also been affected by the ban. Its import has dropped to zero in mid June-July. Analyzing at the monthly data published by the Customs Department in the fiscal year 2078/79, the highest amount was paid in October as mobile phones worth Rs. 6.81 billion were imported. In the last financial year, the total import of mobile phones was 38. 669 billion.
