Kathmandu, 5 August: Chinese Ambassador Ms Hou Yanqi paid a courtesy call to Home Minister Balkrishna Khand today.  During the meeting held at the Home Ministry, Minister Khand expressed the commitment that Nepal is to the “one-China policy” and Nepal doesn’t allow its soil for any activities against its friendly neighbours. During the meeting, Minister Khand informed the envoy that Nepal is strongly committed to non-aligned foreign policy and the principle of Panchasheel. Peace in the neighbouring countries and China is in Nepal’s greater interest. Ambassador Hou informed to the Minister that China is ready to help Nepal with crisis management. She also expressed happiness on the announcement of the provincial and federal parliament election date by the government.  China is always in favour of the the system for electing people’s representatives, she said and also informed that China is ready to work together with the new government to be constituted from the upcoming elections.  She also informed about the national convention of the Communist Party of China to be taken place this year.  People’s News Monitoring Service
