By Our Reporter  The Election Commission has expanded online registration for voter’s roll with photographs in five more districts after the successful implementation of the service in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley, where the service was launched as a pilot project. The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday decided to expand the service in Jhapa, Morang, Kavre, Kaski and Chitwan districts to simplify the voter registration process, said EC. The service came into effect in the five districts from Wednesday. According to the EC, daily 250 people in the five districts get registered on the voter’s list online, while in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley daily 500 people can get online registration. The EC developed a web-based voter list pre-registration system to make it easy for the eligible citizens to get registered as voters. The system was launched in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts on July 14 as a pilot project. The EC has decided to expand the service after it succeeded in the three districts. People can visit the EC’s website, www.election.gov.np and fill up the online form and then visit the district election office with the print copy of the submitted form with the symbol number and other related documents to get a photo and fingerprint taken.
