UML candidates win in Budhiganga municipality defeating alliance candidates
Kathmandu, 10 July: UML candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in the Budhiganga Municipality in Bajura District have won the election by defeating the candidates from the five-party alliance.
Rambahadur Baniya, candidate for the post of mayor has won the election bagging 4 thousand seven hundred 77 votes against his closest rival NC candidate Rangabahadur Khati, who received 3 thousand seven hundred 74 votes.
Likewise, UML’s deputy mayor's candidate Maya Kunwar won the election with 4 thousand seven hundred 27 votes against her nearest rival NC’s Rita Shahi, who bagged 3 thousand 7 hundred 55 votes.
Out of the 10 wards in the municipality, UML has won seven ward chairs, whereas, NC has won three ward chairs.
After a dispute in the local election earlier, the Election Commission had announced reelection, which had taken place on Thursday, 7 July.
