UML candidates lead in Budhiganga municipality election
Kathmandu, 9 July: In the vote counting of the local body election in the Budhiganga Municipality in the Bajura district, UML’s candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor are leading by leaving behind the candidates from the five-party alliance.
Out of 3962 votes counted, UML’s candidate for the post of mayor Rambahadur Baniya has received 2433 votes against his nearest rival NC’s candidate Rangabahadur Khati’s 1291 votes.
Accordingly, Mayakumari Khadka, UML candidate for the post of deputy mayor has bagged 2417 votes against her nearest rival NC’s Rita Shahi with 1312 votes.
The counting of votes in the Ward No 1, 2, 9 and 10 has been completed. UML’s candidates for the post of ward chair have been elected in these wards.
Following a dispute, the election was postponed on the earlier date and re-election was held on 7 July.
