Kathmandu, 3 July: The number of people infected with coronavirus has been increasing for some time now. Another 44 people were infected on Saturday. Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari said that the infection has increased in India as well as in Nepal. According to him, the infection rate has dropped from 0.5 percent to 6 percent. He said that although the number of infected people has not increased as fast as in India, it has been gradually increasing. Corona infection was seen in at least four people in Nepal. That number has risen to 44 . The Director of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Control Division, Dr. Chuman Lal Das said that  genetic sequencing was being carried out at the National Public Health Laboratory to determine if the current infection was an older version of the Omicron variant.
