Kathmandu, 30 June: On the eve of 75th Year of Independence celebrations, the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Study Center organized “Socio-Economic Implications of Covid-19 Pandemic in South Asia; Emerging Risks and Strategies for Future” Talk Programme. The event was attended by people from different strata of society including educationists, politicians, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, writers as well as analysts. The aim of the event was to discuss impact of Covid-19 on social and economic life of people of South Asia and measures to minimize the overall effects of pandemic for betterment of society. The speakers highlighted the grave impact of Covid-19 in the South Asian region and suggested regional/ global cooperation to mitigate its effects on social, economic, and cultural life of the common people. They lauded the efforts of Pakistan government in tackling the pandemic in efficient way. Ambassador Syed Haider Shah highlighted that pandemic is not an issue of a single country but a global challenge which requires regional and global efforts to make this world a safer place.   People’s News Monitoring Service
