Kathmandu, 25 June: Evidence has been found that the Prime Minister's wife, Dr. Arzu Deuba, misused the state machinery to run her business. The state imposes a number of taxes and regulations on every businesses but one of the most expensive schools in the country, run by the first lady has been relieved of all applicable taxes. The Ullens School, run by Arzu, has made arrangements to avoid paying taxes no matter how much money it earns by educating the children of the rich. This is the same school located in Khumaltar of Lalitpur, where the annual admission fee alone is Rs 40,000. Apart from that, the annual fee is Rs 40,000 security deposit is Rs 40,000 monthly fee is Rs 40, 000 and annual charge  is Rs 2,500 in the name of emergency food. It also collects Rs. 350 annually in taxes from each student but does not pay a single penny to the state. According to janaaastha.com, the school does not follow any of the rules adopted by the state for the education of the children of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized citizens, but in the name of being the operator of the Prime Minister's wife, it has received a certificate of tax exemption from the Taxpayer Service Office, Lagankhel. Arzu influenced the finance ministry as well as tax officers and fulfilled her business motives.  Many other schools, run entirely by the  community have been paying taxes but Ullens does not. Budhanilkantha School has no tax exemption. However, it is a community school and  brings talented, poor, marginalized students from across the country. People's News Monitoring Service
