Kathmandu, 17 June: The Nepal Army  (NA)has stated that the letter that has been made public regarding the US Army's State Partnership Program (SPP) is not relevant at this time around. The NA Public Relations and Information Directorate has confirmed that the letter is official but it has lost its relevance as it was written seven years ago to cope with the then situation adversely affected by the Gorkha earthquake. It has also made it clear the NA would never compromise on strategic sensitivities. "After the the devastating earthquake in 2015, we asked not only the United States  but also several other countries to exchange modern rescue technology and experience, and the letter was  written in meet the need of  hour then. With the subside of the quake the letter has lost it relevance. And there was no mention of SPP too," NA Spokesperson Narayan Silwal is quoted as saying. People's News Monitoring Service
