Nepal hands over West Seti to India, PM’s brother-in-law brokered the project
Kathmandu, 7 June: The meeting of the Investment Board chaired by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba held on Monday, 6 June, has decided to hand over the West Seti hydropower project to India. The 750 MW West Seti Hydropower Project is going to be constructed by the National Hydropower Construction Company (NHPC), an Indian government undertaking.
NHPC was brokered by PM’s brother-in-law Pradeep S Rana and noted broker Dipak Btatta is the local agent of the project.
Deepak’s brother Sushil Bhatta is the CEO of the Investment Board.
The Board has also decided to allow an assembling plant of the Korean Metrix vehicle in Nepal. This company is also brokered by Deepak Bhatta, reports Janastha News.
