
Kathmandu, 6 June: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has agreed to give two ministerial portfolios and the post of Deputy Speaker to the Democratic Socialist Party (LSP) led by Mahanta Thakur. Deuba and Thakur held a meeting on Sunday where Thakur is reported to have told Deuba that his party would join the government if the government introduced the Citizenship Bill. The issue of joining Deuba Cabinet will be discussed further with the top leaders of the LSP today, according to reports.
Deuba had met Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota only on Sunday and sought advice on how to move the citizenship bill and address the demands of the LSP. Also on Sunday, Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand held discussion on the same issue with various stake holders.
