Kathmandu, 28 May: The government is preparing to present budget for the new fiscal year 1979-80 on Sunday (29 May). Economic observers have warned the government for not introducing a large size of budget amidst present critical economic scenario, whereas, the government is preparing for introducing a populist budget aiming at the upcoming elections.  The government is trying to provide elderly citizen allowance to citizens above 68 years and also planning to increase salary for the civil servicemen, different sources have claimed. Meanwhile, the Nepal Rastra Bank, central bank of the country, has alarmed that if the government treasury will continue to face pressure on the foreign currency reserve, it may continue the present policy in curtailing imports of luxury goods and incline the bank interest rates.  People’s News Monitoring Service
