Rastriya Prajatantra Party has improved its performance at the recent local levels. Although its lost elections in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, it won in Damak in Jhapa, Shankharapur in Kathmandu and Shivaraj in Kapilvastu. Although the party won only at four local levels, it garnered more votes this time than it had garnered in 2017. In Hetauda, its mayoral candidate lost the poll to the ruling alliance candidate with a small margin.

If the party remains united, the RPP under the leadership of Rajendra Lingden could win seats in the federal parliament and provincial assemblies. In 2017, it won only one seat in the Federal parliament and it was by Lingden himself from Jhapa.

While Lingden succeeded to win more seats at local levels, including in Kathmandu Valley, Kamal Thapa who breached the RPP and revived RPP-Nepal failed to win a single seat despite forging an electoral alliance with the CPN-UML.
