
Kathmandu, 24 May: According to the latest update of the Election Commission, 80.24 percent of the votes cast in Kathmandu Metropolitan City have been counted.
In the local level election held on May 13, 191,051 votes were cast in the Kathmandu metropolis. Out of the cast votes, 153,300 votes have been counted so far. That's 80.24 percent of the total votes cast. Now 37 thousand 751 votes remain to be counted.
According to the commission, independent candidate Balen Shah has maintained his lead from the beginning by getting 50,750 votes. This is 33 percent of the votes counted.
Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Shrestha has received the second highest number of votes. She has received 31 thousand 731 votes so far. She received 21 percent of the votes counted.
