
Kathmandu, 24 May: According to the Election Commission's latest update, independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah has got 47,429 votes. His rival coalition candidate Sirjana Singh got 28,506 votes.
Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Keshav Sthapit has garnered 27,642 votes. Counting of votes has been completed in 21 wards of Kathmandu and now counting in wards 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 26 is underway.
