
Kathmandu, 18 May: Rashtriya Prajatantra Party chaired by Rajendra Lingden has been able to secure victory in two municipalities, whereas, in some municipalities, the party is leading.
In the Haldibari Rural Municipality in Jhapa, the home constituency of RPP chair Lingden, RPP candidate for the post of the Municipality chairman Rabindra Lingden has been elected with six thousand 856 votes.
His nearest rival from UML had bagged four thousand 666 votes.
Similarly, RPP’s candidate for the post of the vice-chairman Laxmi Mainali has been elected with five thousand 78 votes defeating UML’s Shantidevi Gautam. Gautam had bagged four thousand 16 votes.
In the Shankharapur Municipality in Kathmandu district, RPP candidate RPP candidate Ramesh Napit has been elected in the mayor’s post.
Napit has bagged four thousand seven hundred votes against Unified Socialist’s candidate Laxmiprasad Shrestha who had bagged four thousand seven hundred votes.
Nepali Congress’ Samita Shrestha has been elected as the deputy mayor of the municipality.
