Petrol price reaches 170 per litre
Kathmandu, 15 May: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), a government undertaking responsible for supplying petroleum products in the country, has once again inclined the prices of petroleum products effective from Saturday midnight, 14 May.
The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by 10 rupees per litre each reaching petrol at 170 rupees per litre and diesel and kerosene at 153 rupees per litre.
The NOC, however, has not made any changes in the price of LPG gas.
The government is collecting more taxes from the hike as it is collecting almost cent percent of taxes on the price charged by the Indian Oil Corporation. Along with the increment of the price of petroleum products, the government is also collecting more revenue from it, despite consumers’ demand for reducing the existing tax on petroleum products.
