Last week we reported that, according to political observers, a fissure or serious misunderstanding was fast developing between the Nepali Congress and the RPP, the two major constitutions of the three-party coalition governments led by the Nepali Congress. In their view, it would now appear that the verbal battle between the two political groupings, and coalition partners, is hotting up. To back that assessment they indicate a series of public statements since then emanating mainly from a host of RPP stalwarts and NC strongman Girija Prasad Koirala. For Example, Koirala who has been on the stump for some time now declared before a Rupendehi audience that “the RPP is neither a nationalist party nor is it a democratic one”.
