Kathmandu, 22 November: CPN-UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that amnesty cannot be granted for serious incidents of atrocities and human rights violations during the 10-year armed conflict.
In a press release issued on Sunday to mark the 15th anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Nepal, Oli made it clear that he could not agree to a general amnesty for serious human rights violations.
Stating that it is our common responsibility to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process, Oli stressed on the need to address the transitional justice in a holistic manner by trusting the international community to support the peace process in Nepal and maintain goodwill.
