Kathmandu, 18 November: India has barred the enumerator to go to Chhangru and Tinker of Darchula district to conduct national census despite the Darchula administration wrote three times to the Indian administration.
Staffs deployed by the Central Bureau of Statistics for the census in Chhangru of Byas Rural Municipality-1 and Tinker, a village on the Nepal-China border, have been stopped at Khalanga, the district headquarters of Darchula, as they could not go further ahead using Indian territory .
The District Administration Office, Darchula, had written to Assistant District Officer Khagendra Karki and enumerator Rajendra Karki on November 9 to arrange for a pass from Indian land Dharchula to Chhangru via Chhiyalek-Garbang across the Mahakali River (Sita Bridge).
