Kathmandu, 13 November: UML is preparing for holding its 10th national convention in Chitwan from 26 to 28 November.
After electing local level conventions through a consensus, the UML is planning to elect its national convention representatives through a consensus. Also, the party is trying to elect its central leadership through a consensus. Party general secretary Ishwar Pokhrel informed that the party is to elect its central leadership through a consensus.
UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli is almost confirmed to lead the party for the next term. However, the party’s vice chairman Bhim Rawal has announced his candidature to the post of party chairman.
Rawal is dissatisfied with Oli as he believes that Oli didn’t implement the 10-point agreement inked with the dissident leaders in the party for stopping the party from a split.
If Rawal will give candidature, Oli’s wish to become an unopposed leader in the party cannot be fulfilled.
