Himalayan Bank and Nepal Clearing House ink a deal to extend NepalPay QR service
Kathmandu, 13 November: Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) have signed an agreement to extend additional service of NEPALPAY QR integrated under National Payment Switch (NPS) in the first phase. The National Payment Switch operated by NCHL has been approved by Nepal Rastra Bank. The service has expected to benefit the clients by providing a modern digital payment system/channel.
Being the first bank to sign in the agreement, HBL has said that the service will help aid its clients in conducting various banking transactions swiftly. Clients can pay their bills easily through NepalPay QR while purchasing goods and services in any merchant outlets having this facility. Furthermore, Bank will provide additional facilities extended by NCHL through National Payment Switch in due course. NepalPay QR payment system operated through the National Payment Switch is the most secured and convenient QR payment system in Nepal. Thus, it will benefit Bank’s clients directly. After the integration into the NepalPay QR under National Payment Switch, the obligation to carry and pay in cash will not remain.
The agreement has been signed by Ashoke SJB Rana, CEO, HBL and Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO, NCHL in the presence of other executives of the Bank and NCHL.
