
Kathmandu, 2 November: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has said that the cooperation in the health sector should be further enhanced as India is an important part of the bilateral relations. He made the proposal during a courtesy call by Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra Monday.
Minister Khatiwada and Ambassador Kwatra met at the Ministry of Health. During the meeting, the Minister said that the continuous supply of medicine, oxygen and other health items from India to Nepal was highly commendable even in the dire situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Khatiwada said, "While Nepal is working towards the goal of vaccinating all the target population against COVID-19 as soon as possible, the support and cooperation received from India is extremely important”.
On the occasion, stating that the number of kidney patients is increasing in Nepal, the Minister requested the Ambassador to provide about 200 dialysis machines.
