20 US troops in Nepal to take part in military exercises
Kathmandu, 1 November: Twenty US troops have arrived in Nepal to take part in a military exercise starting on Monday. A military exercise called 'Teak Nail' between the Nepali and US armies is starting today. The Teak Nail exercise will focus on disaster management. Military exercises between the Nepali and US forces will take place in Kathmandu and Pokhara. The exercise will focus on how to rescue those trapped in water and mountains.
The US military is considered to be perfect for rescue in the waters and snowy mountains. During the exercise, the US military will train the Nepal Army on how to rescue those trapped in the mountains.
The exercise will last for a month. This is the 22nd edition of the 'Tick Nail' military exercise. Earlier, 21 editions were held in Nepal. The exercise is being attended by 50 Nepal Army and 20 US Army Special Forces. The US military has been providing significant assistance to the Nepal Army for disaster management training.
