Kathmandu, 23 October: Former Indian ambassador and designer of the 12-point agreement, also known to be instrumental of the South Block in sponsoring Maoist “people’s war” in Nepal, Ranjit Rae is arriving in Kathmandu to attend an interaction programme on 25 October on his controversial book, “Kathmandu Dilemma: Resetting India-Nepal Ties”. According to sources, Nepal’s former ambassador to Denmark and Madhesh issue campaigner Bijayakant Karna has organised an interaction programme on the controversial book by inviting the controversial author, who had spent four years representing India to a sovereign country, Nepal. Besides, on 26 October, he is being honoured at a programme organised by Prem Laskar, president, Nepal-India Friendship Association, perhaps, Rae is being awarded for his book against Nepali sovereignty!  The controversial book has been strongly criticized by Nepali intellectuals. Even scholar like Professor Dr Lokraj Balaral has expressed his denial on the author’s statement to follow the Bhutan model. Rae, the author of the book, has cited with a surprise that why Nepal didn’t choose to follow the Bhutanese model! To note, Bhutan is an India protected nation. In the book, the writer has cited that Nepal is trying to become a nation with full sovereignty. Can sovereignty be defined as full or half, it is a question. A senior journalist expressed his surprise saying that at what capacity did Rae spend four years in Nepal…as the ambassador of a half-sovereign nation or an ambassador of a sovereign nation! He further remarked that attending such an interaction programme by the Nepali intellectuals and academicians would be a blunder and an example of the total surrender of our sovereignty to India.
