Oli rejects PM Deuba’s request for a meeting
Kathmandu, 20 October: UML chair and leader of the main opposition party K.P. Sharma Oli has rejected a request from Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for a meeting.
PM Deuba has informed that Oli had rejected an invitation for a meeting between them.
To end the continuous disruption in the House by UML MPs, Deuba had wished to hold talks with Oli.
“For many times, I had invited him but he didn’t come,” Deuba said in an interview to the Gorkhapatra daily.
“I, along with my friends, will go to meet Oli,” Deuba has remarked.
The House affairs should be continued, the PM has said.
Against Oli’s allegation that the present government was formed through the court order, Deuba has clarified that the present government has been constituted with the people’s mandate.
“The government holds both the court’s order and people’s order,” Deuba remarked.
He said that as MCC is a grant project, Nepal should accept it.
Defending on MCC, he said that it is purely in Nepal’s interests and it is not above Nepal’s laws.
Deuba also claimed that in 100 days, the government has been able to do many remarkable works.
He claimed that the government has been able to end the chaotic situation and gave political stability.
He also claimed for providing financial support to needy people.
