Kathmandu, 14 October: Former King Gyanendra extending Dasain greetings to all the Nepalis in the country and abroad, has also described the real picture of the country.  His remarks on the political leaders are based on reality. Therefore, the majority of the academicians have appreciated the King’s remarks. Immediately after the King's video message, they have tweeted apprising the former King.  The former King has remarked that democracy without monarchy and a monarchy without democracy could be irrelevant in the Nepali context.   Baburam Bhattarai, a pupil of anti-Nepal scholar SD Muni and member of the Shyamsharan, Shivashankar Mukharjee and Ranjit Rae club, has asked the King for not dreaming to return monarchy. He has asked the King to remain silent. Meanwhile, UML’s vice chairman Bhim Rawal has remarked that different people may have a different opinions.  Instead of making hue and cry on the King’s present statement, the political leaders should demonstrate their capability to run the present system, Rawal has remarked.  He has questioned why the House of Representatives has been disrupted? Why political leaders have not been able to function the system properly! NC leader Gopalman Shrestha has remarked that in a democracy the former King too can express his opinion.  He, however, said that there is no environment for the return of the monarchy in Nepal. Left academician Dr Surendra KC observed that the former King has also the right to express his opinion.  The former King has indicated political anomalies. The peace and security situation is worsening, which, I am also telling.  He also recalled that earlier, the political leaders themselves had advocated for baby king and cultural king. In an interview with a local television channel, KC has opined that restoration of the monarchy is better than the performance of those political leaders as if they are the kings.  People's News Monitoring Service
