Kathmandu, 13 October: The proposed 14th national convention of the Nepali Congress is likely to be postponed again.  The party headquarters is scheduled to call its central working committee meeting immediately after the Dasain festival. The meeting may reschedule the national convention dates. As the previous ward, municipality and district convention schedules have been affected in different districts, the national convention dates can be postponed, said an NC source.  Until now, ward level assembly has been concluded in 64 districts. In 21 Himali districts, the party has conducted a district level convention.  Earlier, it was said that in 13 districts, where ward level convention has not been conducted, would be conducted immediately after the Dasain festival. As the party leaderships have not been able to resolve the dispute of active membership in these districts, the ward level convention date is still uncertain, which will affect the national convention date.  After pressure from Ramchandra Poudel, senior leader, Prime Minister and party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has become ready to call the meeting of the party office bearers and central working committee after the Dasain festival.  The meeting is likely to reschedule the provincial and national level convention of the party.  PM Deuba is unable to give the necessary time for the party as he is engaged in different government businesses including the expansion of his cabinet, which has affected the national convention schedule of the party.  People’s News Monitoring Service
