Kathmandu, 4 October: Student leaders affiliated with the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party(LSP)  organised a demonstration today alleging China for encroaching Nepali territory in the bordering area in Humla District. The demonstrators chanted slogans against China including “Go back China!”, reports Nepal Samaya Online portal. A rally was organised by the demonstrators which had reached different parts of Janakpur town. Prashanta Jha, coordinator of the programme said that as the federal government has remained silent on the issue of the border encroachment by China, they have organised the protest programme. Earlier, the same student organisation belonging to LSP had organised a protest programme at Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu. The Nepal government is yet to confirm border encroachment by the Chinese side at Limi and Lapcha area, bordered with China in Humla district. The government had formed a border inspection team, which had returned without completing inspection works. Last year, a team of the Nepali Congress led by Jeevan Bahadur Shahi had submitted a report to the party alleging China for encroaching Nepali territory in Humla. Later the government led by K.P. Sharma Oli had clarified that there was no encroachment from the Chinese side in the said territory. Then foreign minister Pradeep Gyawali had clarified that the Chinese side had constructed some buildings in the said area which doesn’t belong to the Nepali territory. Later, immediately after the new five-party alliance government was formed, the government constituted an inspection team. The team left for the field inspection but returned without completing the task showing the reason for bad weather. Border expert Buddhinarayan Shrestha claims that it is the government created propaganda to suppress the fact about India encroached Nepali territories. Political observers believe such propaganda is based on the government attempt of pleasing New Delhi. The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party is known to be the India sponsored party.
