Kathmandu, 2 October: UML chairman K.P. Sharma Oli, by introducing a new statute in the party, has planned to consolidate his strength in the party. According to the statute amendment proposal presented at the ongoing statute national convention kicked off on Friday, the age limit for retirement from active party responsibility is proposed for 70 years. If this proposal is introduced, Oli can be elected to the party chairman’s post for one more term and many senior leaders are going to get retirement within five years due to their age. Oli’s critics have alleged that Oli has developed such an idea with the plan of consolidating his grip in the party. Meanwhile, Oli has exhibited his strength by demonstrating the participation of above six thousand UML cadres at the statute national convention of the party. Meanwhile, denouncing other political parties, Oli has claimed that his party is the mainstream political party. People’s News Monitoring Service
