Kathmandu, 1 October: UML’s statute national convention is going to kick off today in Godawari, Lalitpur. Above six thousand UML cadres from all over the country is expected to participate in the three-day national convention.

UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli is going to present a political document, whereas, general secretary  Ishwor Pokhrel is going to present an organisational document and vice general secretary Bishnu Rimal is going to present party statute amendment proposal, which will be effective after its approval from the national convention. The present national convention is expected to give the future shape of the UML. If the national convention will endorse the retirement ceiling of 70 years, many senior leaders will get retirement within five years. Also, the party has proposed not repeating in the same post for more than two terms, which can be an attraction in the party.
