
Kathmandu, 27 September: In a bid to spread positive messages to recover and promote tourism business, the Government has hosted a dozen of foreign diplomats in the picturesque city of Pokhara.
Ambassadors and diplomats from different countries have arrived in the scenic city of Pokhara at the invitation of Gandaki Province government on the eve of the World Tourism Day. Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gyanendra Poudel, Chairperson of Pokhara Tourism Council Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai and others welcomed the diplomats at Pokhara Airport. The officials have confirmed the arrival of diplomats of Qatar, UAE, Finland, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Germany, and other countries.
Likewise, Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and Chiefs of other diplomatic missions including the United Nations are also in the contingent.
Meanwhile, the hotel industry in the country has expressed its pleasure to the government decision of on-arrival visa to the international tourists. Issuing a press statement on the eve of the World Tourism Day on Sunday, the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has lauded the Government’s announcement of issuing on-arrival visa to tourists.
