Photo: Philo Post Kathmandu, 25 September: Former King Gyanendra visited Kumarighar and received Tika from living Goddess Kumari Friday evening, the last day of the Indra Jatra Festival. A big crowd of pro-monarchy people at Basantapur had greeted the former King when he reached there. There was the tradition of visiting Basantapur Palace on the 14th day of the lunar calendar to witness the Kumari Charot Festival and visiting Kumarighar on the last day of the Indra Jatra Festival by the sitting King. Later, the tradition is followed by the sitting President. King Gyanendra, after his dethronement, is visiting the Kumarighar on the last day of the Festival. This year, after President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited the Kumarighar, King Gyanendra was reached there.
