
Kathmandu, 21 September: In a writ petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding to revoke the membership of 14 UML lawmakers, the SC has fixed the next date for the hearing for today.
Hearing of the case has been set for today as the hearing did not conclude today in the division bench of Justices Dipak Kumar Karki and Dr Kumar Chudal. CPN (UML) Chairman Khadga Oli had filed the petition naming 14 parliamentarians recommended for action from the party, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, Election Commission of Nepal and Speaker of Lumbini Province Purna Gharti as the defendants.
Earlier, the SC had sought the Election Commission’s written response within 15 days on whether the registration process of the CPN (Unified Socialist) was in line with due processes.
